Next you will need something to draw with. I like to use a variety of drawing pencils. They are labeled with numbers and letters, like 2H, 2B, 4B, etc. I prefer to use 2B, 4B, and 6B pencils. The larger the number, the softer the graphite. You can get darker blacks with a 6B pencil. Get a few different ones to start with, and over time, youll see which you prefer. The H stands for "hard," and the B stands for "black." You will need erasers to clean up unwanted lines. I use two types. One is a kneaded eraser, which is a gray block. To use it, you pinch it like play dough, to any shape you want, then erase with it. Its perfect when you want to erase just one dot or skinny line of color.
To get coloured spots on a white background you can use ring binder reinforcement ring stickers. Again these are also readily and cheaply available from stationers. Just stick the reinforcement rings all over your pot, but instead of painting the background carefully paint the hole in the middle of the ring binder stickers and then peel the rings off when the paint is dry before glazing and firing. Stamping your Spots and Dots Instead of using your fingers at a stamp for dots and spots, your could use other round objects by immersing them in paint and dabbing them on your pottery. At craft shops you can buy various sponge tools called dabbers and daubers which also make round spots. Other household items you could use to stamp spots on your pottery are cotton wool buds, the end of your paint brush or the flat end of a pencil. The object does need to be clean and free from grease for starting each colour. With the cotton wool buds it is best to use a new one for each colour.
Dot will debut in over 3,300 stores in the United States and Great Britain in July, and internationally in August. The perfume range is priced from $48 to $89, body lotion for $45 and shower gel for $40. Dot comes after Daisy and Lola, all three aimed at young women with the latest one seemingly geared to even younger teens. The new launch gives permission to play with perfume, at any age. Dots summer release is definitely appropriate as there is a tropical element unlike its sister scents. Although maintaining the right amount of freshness and sweetness, Dot is also chic and charming at the same time. Not only Marc Jacob perfume but also his perfume bottles are fun and can bought just to put them somewhere in a room to light up the decor. This time the bottle is cute ladybird-inspired one which is adorned with dots and butterflies which is supposed to evoke visualisations of "a ladybug with butterflies alighting on it." According to the designer, the idea of the hybrid butterfly-ladybugs suggests a sort of free spirit and femininity and playfulness.
Round Stickers You can buy round stickers in various sizes easily and cheaply from stationers and they can be used to create lovely pottery with white spots on a coloured background. All you need to do is stick your round stickers all over the surface your dry and clean bisque (unpainted, unglazed pottery) in a random pattern. Rub the stickers to make sure they are securely attached to the pottery. Then paint all the surface area in your chosen colour, this can be done with a paintbrush or sponge. To get a nice solid even colour at least two coats of ceramic paint are recommended. Once the paint is completely dry peel off the stickers and your pottery is ready for glazing and firing. If you cant get manage to lift the stickers at the edge a good tip is to take a pin and stick it in the sticker and lift.
The festival got off to a mild start with a set by Milk Maid over at Zoo that gently rocked the crowd into a frenzy and lead nicely into a half hour show over at the HMV Ritz from Bastille that had a fantastic turnout for so early in the day and revved things up a notch - getting everyone in the mood for more. More soon came thanks to the wonderful Lucy Rose, whos warm and fuzzy acoustics proved to be a huge hit. Her new single Lines could well be the song that takes her closer to mainstream success, but at this point it would probably be a good idea to catch her while she is at her hottest. Things were already starting to kick off elsewhere with The Dunwells and Jake Bugg at Zoo, Eyes on Film and Last Dinosaur at Joshua Brooks, The Night and Hyde & Beast at The Deaf Institute and all manner of shenanigans across the three stages over at the fantastic new Sound Control - a former guitar shop that has fast become one of the most interesting venues in the city.
Of course you want a dot-com extension. Everyone does. But one of the biggest mistakes you can make choosing a domain name is picking one that is difficult to scan and impossible to pronounce. By "difficult to scan" I mean a word or phrase that bares so little resemblance to a real word or phrase that it is resistant to mental retention and you forget it the moment you hear it. An example might be when two or three common English words are severed and reconnected into one impossible mishmash as in "landarchass," a shortened version of a business name that a fictional businessman might choose instead of "landscaping architects and associates" (by the way, if youre interested, this name is still available as a dot-com; I didnt dare use a real name).
